BREAST LIFT FAQ'S Why would I want a breast lift? As women age and/or have children, their breasts tend to lose fat and the breast tissue begins to thin. Often, when the breast tissue shrinks it causes the nipple/ areola to droop down below the inframammary crease. Lifting the nipple above the crease will restore a youthful look. To enhance the lift, patients usually decide to have implants as well.
Will a breast lift affect breast-feeding? While it is possible to breast-feed after a lift, it is generally recommended that you wait. Should you become pregnant, your breasts will swell and stretch the skin and you may lose the benefits of the procedure.
Can I have a lift and augmentation or a lift and a reduction? Yes. Many patients who request a lift also desire to have the fullness of their youthful breasts back. Such patients will have implants as well. In certain cases, an augmentation will aid in stretching the skin, enabling the doctor to do a breast lift with shorter scars. Other patients may require a breast reduction as well as a lift to restore the look they desire.
